Class Descriptions: Street: Classes Combine all the fundamentals of Street Dance, such as Hip Hop, Breaking, Popping, Locking, Waving, Sliding, Liquid etc. Contemporary: Using dance techniques and methods found in ballet, modern dance and postmodern dance, it also draws from other philosophies of movement that are outside the realm of classical dance technique. Contemporary dance employs many modern dance techniques such as contact-release, fall and recovery, floor work, improvisation, and lifts in partnering. A must class for all serious dancers wanting to enter into further and higher dance education. Jazz: Combining techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance. Jazz has its own movement vocabulary ranging from the isolation of certain body parts to the movement of the entire body with the accents of musical rhythms. Jazz can take on many different characteristics and styles, including Street Jazz, Percussive, Broadway, Contemporary and Lyrical. Jazz can be patterned in any of these styles or a combination of them. Emphasis is on the importance of energy, rhythmical accuracy, and style. Commercial: Bring out your inner Diva and get your Sassiness powered on full! Commercial is a strong sassy dance style seen in most Music Videos, Concerts and Commercials, with a variety of dance styles such as Jazz, elements of Street Dance and Contemporary. Freestyle: Freestyle Disco is a very fast paced energetic style of dance, performed to fast paced pop and dance music. Don't be fooled by the name, John Travolta is no where to be seen!. For decades this style has been at the forefront of Popular Dance, combining style, grace and energy to create an intensely fulfilling performance based workout. Breakin: Breakin, also known as "B-boying" or "B-girling" by its practitioners and followers, is a dynamic style of dance that is part of Hip Hop culture emerged out of the Hip-Hop movement in the South Bronx of New York City during the late 20th century. Breakin is one of the many elements of Hip Hop culture. The unique form of dancing is very acrobatic and creative. Breakin has been performed in countless shows, music videos on MTV and at dance clubs. A VERY impressive dance style. Tap: A style in which the rhythm is sounded out by the clicking taps on the heels and toes of a dancers shoes. Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers are typically associated with this style of dance, although more modern groups such as the Tap Dogs have re-vamped this traditional style of dance. Ballet: A classical dance form characterized by grace and precision of movement and by elaborate formal gestures, steps, and poses. A must class for all serious dancers wanting to enter into further and higher dance education. Cheerleading: Fusing Cheerleading, Urban styles, and Stunting, a very lively, energetic class. The starting point for all young budding performers is to enrol in our classes. All of our students get the opportunity to enter into dance competitions throughout the year, and we are always on the lookout in all cheer classes for the next talented student to become a member of Crew, Squads and Team.

All classes on our Timetable are exam classes, pupils will be trained and entered for Dance Examinations twice per year.

Anyone not wishing to participate in examinations, please attend classes marked with a * only.

Adults wishing to participate in examinations may do so, please speak to your class Instructor who will advise you further.

Private Tuition is available in all Subjects at a cost of £35.00 per hour, for up to 2 people.
